MUMBAI, India, June 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641073116 A) filed by Indian Institute Of Science on June 12, 2026, for Fibre-Reinforced Cementitious And Stabilized Earth Composites.
Inventors include Charitha Mudi; and Souradeep Gupta.
The application for the patent was published on June 19, 2026, under issue no. 25/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a fibre-reinforced cementitious or stabilised earth-based composition and a method for forming a composite therefrom. The composition comprises a settable mixture and a treated lignocellulosic fibre dispersed within the settable mixture. The lignocellulosic fibre is treated with saccharose thereby modifying the fibre surface characteristics and improving its compatibility with the matrix. A slurry comprising the composition is configured for 3D printing. The resulting composite exhibits improved long-term performance, including enhanced compressive strength, while maintaining structural integrity and reduced shrinkage compared to composites containing untreated fibres.
