Abstract: The present disclosure relates to the development of Fe-based alloys and their application in the fabrication of biodegradable implants/STAs through powder bed fusion additive manufacturing. Furthermore, the present disclosure outlines a comprehensive methodology for preparing iron-manganese-silicon-copper (Fe-Mn-Si-Cu) alloy powders specifically for additive manufacturing. The present disclosure provides a sophisticated manufacturing process that not only ensures exceptional degradation and biocompatibility properties but also incorporates surface modification and the application of advanced coatings to improve functionality and performance. Said process also achieves reduced magnetic susceptibility and superior mechanical performance, pull-out strength making it a significant advancement in implant technology.
