Abstract: ABSTRACT FAULT-TOLERANT HEURISTIC-BASED LOAD BALANCING SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DYNAMIC TASK SCHEDULING IN CLOUD COMPUTING ENVIRONMENTS The present invention provides a fault-tolerant load balancing system (100) and method for dynamic task scheduling in cloud computing environments. The system (100) comprises a task reception and brokering unit (110) for receiving cloudlets from users, a fault-tolerant load balancer (120) having a load balancing module (122) that computes a fault-tolerant score for each active Virtual Machine based on the ratio of current workload to processing capacity, a fault detection module (124) that monitors VM health through heartbeat signals and identifies failed VMs in real-time, and a task reassignment module (126) that redistributes tasks from failed VMs to active VMs based on their fault-tolerant scores. The system (100) further includes a datacenter resource layer (130) with Virtual Machines (132) and physical resources (134), and an execution and results module (140). [
