Inventors include Qiranul Saadiyean; Nafis Muhib Noushad; Akarsh Hirennavar; Muhammed Zain; Yohan Rozario; and Suresh Sundaram.

The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.

Abstract: A fault-tolerant autonomous ground vehicle system (102) comprises propulsion subsystem (104) comprising plurality of independently actuated drive motors (106). Power subsystem (108) comprises plurality of battery modules (110) configured to provide electrical power to autonomous ground vehicle. Control subsystem (112) comprises real-time controller (114) configured to perform propulsion control and vehicle-state estimation, and high-level processing unit (116) configured to perform navigation, mission execution, and autonomous decision making. Communication subsystem (118) exchanges operational data between real-time controller (114) and high-level processing unit (116). Fault-management subsystem (120) detects one or more fault conditions and transitions autonomous ground vehicle between plurality of operational states corresponding to detected fault conditions while maintaining at least subset of autonomous functions without system shutdown.
