MUMBAI, India, Sept. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541017916 A) filed by Ola Electric Mobility Limited on February 28, 2025, for Fault Detection In Electric Vehicle Braking Systems.

Inventors include Dhinagar, Samraj Jabez; and Hippalgaonkar, Rohit Ravindra.

The application for the patent was published on September 04, 2026, under issue no. 36/2026.

Abstract: ABSTRACT DETERMINING BRAKING EFFICIENCY DEGRADATION IN VEHICLES A system (102) for determining braking efficiency degradation in 5 a vehicle (100) comprises a mounting bracket (106) configured to be attached to a handlebar, the mounting bracket (106) including a switch housing (108). A brake lever (110) is pivotally coupled to the mounting bracket (106), with an end portion integrally forming a lever lug (114) defining a contoured contact surface. A first sensor (118a) includes a switch 10 plunger (116) biased against the contoured contact surface and housed within the switch housing (108), wherein the switch plunger (116) extends or retracts in continuous engagement with the lever lug (114) to translate brake lever motion into linear displacement, generating a proportional voltage signal. A second sensor (118b) measures real-time vehicle 15 deceleration. A vehicle control unit (104) determines expected braking performance from the voltage signal, computes a hydraulic degradation factor and identifies a hydraulic degradation condition when the factor exceeds a predefined threshold. 20 To be read with Figure 1B
