The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.

Abstract: Abstract: The invention relates to a composite girder designed for railway and metro bridge applications, providing enhanced fatigue resistance and long-term durability. The girder consists of a corrugated steel web enclosed within reinforced concrete flanges and includes a crack-control interface layer surrounding the web. The corrugated web improves load-bearing capacity, shear distribution, and energy absorption under cyclic and dynamic loading conditions. Simultaneously, the crack-control layer helps prevent early-age cracking, slows the initiation of cracks, and reduces their growth over time. This girder can be manufactured as either precast or in-situ elements, offering flexibility in construction methods. Compared to traditional bridge girders, this design reduces material usage while maintaining or improving structural performance. The integrated web and interface system enhances fatigue performance, extends the service life of the structure, and lowers maintenance requirements, making it particularly suitable for modern railway and metro infrastructure. Various design embodiments are envisaged, including different corrugation profiles, flange thicknesses, and interface layer materials to optimize performance for specific project requirements. The girder is ideal for long-span bridges and structures exposed to repetitive dynamic loads. Overall, the proposed system provides a sustainable and durable solution, combining structural efficiency, high fatigue resistance, and adaptability to diverse construction and loading scenarios.
