Abstract: ABSTRACT FAST ACTING PYRO SAFETY SWITCH BASED BATTERY DISCONNECT MECHANISM The present invention provides a battery isolation system (100) with real-time verification for electric vehicles. The system includes a battery pack (200) forming a high-voltage bus, a pyro safety switch (202) in series with a battery junction box (204), and a pyro driver circuit (208) coupled to the pyro safety switch (202). The pyro driver circuit (208) receives a fault trigger signal from a supplemental restraint system (SRS), battery management system (BMS) (206), or sensors such as an inertial measurement unit (IMU) (214). In response, it discharges stored electrical energy to activate the pyro safety switch (202) in under 0.50 ms. The pyro driver circuit (208) measures switch voltage or continuity before and after activation and sends feedback to the BMS (206), ensuring rapid, verified disconnection
