MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611065622 A) filed by Chandigarh University on May 25, 2026, for Fan-Less Auto-Cooling Laptop Stand Using Passive Thermal Management.

Inventor includes Deven.

The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a fan-less auto-cooling laptop stand configured to provide passive thermal regulation without electrical power, moving parts, or active cooling components. The stand integrates heat pipes, phase-change material (PCM), and airflow-guiding geometric structures to establish a continuous heat-transfer pathway. Heat generated at the laptop base is captured and rapidly transferred through embedded heat pipes to the PCM layer, which absorbs and temporarily stores excess thermal energy to stabilize temperature fluctuations. The stored heat is subsequently released through convection-optimized fins and airflow channels that promote natural upward airflow and passive heat dissipation. The invention enables silent, energy-efficient, and maintenance-free cooling while reducing thermal stress and improving laptop performance, user comfort, and device longevity. The stand is universally compatible with laptops of varying sizes and power ratings.
