Abstract: ABSTRACT The rapid growth of social media has led to the widespread dissemination of fake news, creating serious societal impacts. This project focuses on developing a real-time fake news detection system using Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning techniques. The system analyzes textual content of news article to determine their authenticity.Initially, data is collected from variousonline sources such as news websites and as a social media platforms . The collected data is pre processed through tokenization, stopword removal, and normalization . Relevant features are extracted using techniques like TF-IDF and word embeddings . Machine learning algorithms such as Logistic and Regression , Naive Bayes , and Support Vector Machines are used for classification . Advanced models like BERT can also be incorporated to improve accuracy . The trained model predicts if a whether news item is real or fake in real time. The system provides output along with a confidence score for better reliability. This approach helps in reducing the spread of misinformation effectively. It can be integrated into social media platforms and news applications. The system is scalable and can handle large volumes of streaming data.Overall, it contributes to building a trustworthy digital information ecosystem.
