Abstract: A fail-safe system 100 for vehicle operation during advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) outages, is provided. The system 100 comprises a transceiver 110 and a controller 104. The transceiver 110 is configured to transmit and receive infrasound signals. The controller 104 is configured to activate the transceiver 110 to receive infrasound signals associated with objects or vehicles in the surroundings of a corresponding vehicle, upon ADAS sensor failure, determine obstacle information from received infrasound signals, and determine driving actions based on the obstacle information. The system 100 enhances vehicle safety and reliability in challenging conditions when conventional sensors are compromised. FIG. 1
