Such methods include, while operating in a source cell, receiving an early uplink (UL) synchronization configuration for a 5 second LTM candidate cell and performing an LTM cell switch from the source cell to a first LTM candidate cell, as a target cell. Such methods include subsequently receiving an indication to perform an early UL synchronization to the second LTM candidate cell. The indication references one or more parameters in the received early UL synchronization configuration for the second LTM candidate cell. Such methods include performing an early UL synchronization to the second 0 LTM candidate cell, based on the referenced parameters. Other embodiments include UEs configured to perform such methods.
