MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611056752 A) filed by Sharda University on May 04, 2026, for Facet-Preserved Photocatalytic Reactor System.

Inventors include Dr. Mohit Sahni; Dr. Munendra Singh; Dr. Babita Tripathi; Dr. Sangeeta Baksi; Dr. Suman Lata Dhar; and Dr. Anurag Tyagi.

The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.

Abstract: Disclosed is a facet-preserved photocatalytic reactor system including a housing defining a treatment region, a support assembly disposed within the housing, and an immobilized photocatalytic body mounted on the support assembly. The immobilized photocatalytic body includes zinc oxide particles arranged as a monolithic body, a foam body, or a porous carrier-supported body, with exposed crystallographic surfaces preserved in dominant proportion for photocatalytic interaction with a fluid. An inlet passage and an outlet passage are formed in the housing for passing the fluid through the treatment region. A radiation-admission portion is provided in the housing, and an irradiation unit is positioned relative thereto to expose the immobilized photocatalytic body to sunlight or simulated solar radiation. A flow control arrangement maintains the fluid in irradiated contact with the immobilized photocatalytic body for degradation of contaminants without release of the zinc oxide particles into the fluid.
