Abstract: The present invention relates to a solar-powered belt-type oil skimmer boat (100) configured for collecting floating oil from the surface of a water body. The boat comprises a floating hull (101), a solar panel (102), a belt assembly (103), a belt-driving motor (106), an oil scraper (107), an oil col-lection chute (108), and a recovered oil container (109). The belt assembly includes a continuous belt extending around a driving roller (104) and at least one guide roller (105), with a lower portion arranged to contact floating oil and an elevated portion arranged to transport the collected oil to-wards the oil scraper. The scraper separates oil from the moving belt and directs the recovered ma-terial through the collection chute into the container. A power management arrangement supplies electrical energy generated by the solar panel to the belt-driving motor and may include a charge controller (110), a rechargeable battery (111), and a motor controller (112). An optional propulsion motor (113) enables movement of the boat across a contaminated water surface. The invention provides an integrated floating platform for solar-assisted mechanical recovery of floating oil.
