Abstract: This invention relates to a novel, integrated surgical instrument designed for comprehensive intraoral exposure, combining the functions of a tongue depressor, mouth gag, and cheek retractor into a single ergonomic unit. Standard oral procedures often require multiple assistants or various standalone tools that can clutter the surgical field and increase the risk of soft tissue trauma. The fabricated device features an adjustable, spring-loaded mouth gag mechanism coupled with bilateral cheek retraction blades and a central, contoured tongue depression plate. Constructed from medicalgrade stainless steel or high-strength biocompatible polymers, the device incorporates a ratcheted locking system that allows for precise, incremental opening of the oral cavity. This ensures stable, hands-free maintenance of the surgical site, reducing provider fatigue and enhancing patient safety by distributing pressure evenly across the dental arches and buccal mucosa. Furthermore, the instrument is designed with modular components to accommodate varying anatomical dimensions across pediatric and adult populations. By consolidating three essential functions, the device minimizes the "instrument footprint," providing an unobstructed line of sight and greater maneuverable space for secondary surgical tools. This integrated approach is particularly beneficial for tonsillectomies, dental extractions, and pharyngeal examinations, offering a cost-effective and efficient solution for modern clinical and surgical settings.
