Abstract: The present invention relates to a flexible and biodegradable supercapacitor fabricated using mint (Mentha species) leaves and stems as a renewable biomass source for electrode material. The collected mint biomass is cleaned, dried, and processed using suitable techniques to obtain a carbon-based electrode material, which is subsequently utilized as an active electrode component in the fabrication of the supercapacitor device. The developed device is investigated for its electrochemical energy-storage performance in terms of capacitance, charge–discharge behaviour, and energy-storage capability. The utilization of mint leaves and stems provides an approach for converting plant-based biomass waste into useful electrode materials for sustainable energy-storage applications, while promoting the use of naturally available, renewable, and low-cost resources. The proposed flexible and biodegradable supercapacitor provides an environmentally responsible approach to energy storage and may be useful in flexible electronics, portable and low-power electronic devices, and other applications requiring lightweight and adaptable energy-storage systems. The invention therefore contributes to the development of biomass-derived carbon-based electrode materials and sustainable, economical, and eco-friendly flexible supercapacitor technology.
