Abstract: The present invention relates to an eyewear-mounted optoelectronic ocular closure detection system configured to monitor driver vigilance and initiate sequential safety interventions. The system comprises a spectacle frame carrying an infrared eye-blink sensor, a microcontroller-based control board, an acoustic buzzer, visual indicator lights, a rechargeable battery pack, and a motor-driver module connected to drive motors. The infrared sensor detects variations in reflected optical intensity corresponding to open and closed eyelid conditions and transmits digital signals to the controller. The controller evaluates the duration of detected ocular closure and distinguishes brief natural blinking from prolonged closure using predefined timing thresholds. Upon detecting sustained closure, the controller activates an audible warning and a red visual indicator. If the closure persists beyond a subsequent threshold, the controller progressively reduces the pulse-width modulation duty cycle supplied to the motor-driver module, thereby reducing the drive supplied to the connected motors. The integrated arrangement supports wearable ocular monitoring, multistage alerting, and controlled motor deceleration in an intended motor-driven safety application.
