Abstract: ABSTRACT A sliding jaw eye speculum (100) includes a curved frame (102) bifurcating into a first spring arm (102A) terminating in a first eyelid-contacting tip (104A) and a second spring arm (102B) terminating in a second eyelid-contacting tip (104B), the spring arms being resiliently biased in a diverged configuration. A first longitudinal rod (106A) and a second longitudinal rod (106B) extend proximally from the respective spring arms, join at a proximal curved portion (114), and connect back to the curved frame (102). A sliding jaw body (110) is slidably mounted on the longitudinal rods. Linear displacement of the sliding jaw body (110) moves the eyelid-contacting tips between a closed position and an open position. Furthermore, the sliding jaw body (110) is selectively lockable at a plurality of positions along the longitudinal rods to retain a predetermined eyelid separation. FIG. 1
