The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.

Abstract: The present invention provides an efficient process for the selective extraction of Vanadium from pet coke/coal gasification cinders with an overall Vanadium extraction efficiency of 90%. The invented process employs (i) an innovative direct sulfuric acid leaching of fine cinders in presence of an additive & oxidizing agent, (ii) selective extraction of vanadium by a mixture of organic reagents comprising of Di-(2-ethylhexyl) phosphoric acid (D2EHPA), Tri-butyl phosphate (TBP) and Iso- decanol dissolved in Kerosene, (iii) back-extraction of vanadium from the organic phase by an alkali solution. The back extracted vanadium from the alkali solution was precipitated as ammonium meta-vanadate (AMV) by addition of an ammonium salt in excess. Calcination of the ammonium meta-vanadate (AMV) in an inert atmosphere yielded high pure (99%) V2O5.
