Abstract: A power generation system is disclosed, which comprises power generating turbomachine. The turbomachine drives at least two electric generators drivingly coupled to the power generating turbomachine and electrically coupled to an electric power distribution grid and/or to a local load. In case of failure of one electric generator, the surviving electric generator prevents uncontrolled over-speeding of the shaft line. A method for controlling a power generation system is also disclosed herein.
