Abstract: An expandable core apparatus (100) for straightening sintered polytetrafluoroethylene tubes (300) includes an inflatable core body (102) configured to receive a pressurised gas. The inflatable core body (102) is configured to expand radially outward upon introduction of the pressurised gas. A plurality of elongated pads (104) are disposed on an outer surface of the inflatable core body (102). The plurality of elongated pads (104) are configured to move radially outward upon expansion of the inflatable core body (102). Upon introduction of the pressurised gas, the inflatable core body (102) displaces the plurality of elongated pads (104) radially outward along a working length of the expandable core apparatus (100). The plurality of elongated pads (104) engage an inner bore of a sintered polytetrafluoroethylene tube (300). The sintered polytetrafluoroethylene tube (300) is supported in a straight configuration by the plurality of elongated pads (104). FIG. 1
