MUMBAI, India, Sept. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202617086027 A) filed by Yamaha Hatsudoki Kabushiki Kaisha on July 14, 2026, for Exhaust Gas Treatment System.
Inventor includes Hanazono, Yuichi.
The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.
Abstract: An alcohol engine (10) in an exhaust gas treatment system (1) is configured to combust a fuel containing greater than 20 vol% of a high-concentration alcohol. The ratio (a/b) of the length (a) of an exhaust port (12) to the length (b) of an exhaust pipe (13) upstream of a catalyst (14) is 0.250 or less, which is the reciprocal of the ratio of the thermal conductivity of the exhaust port material to the exhaust pipe material, and 0.083 or more, which is a value obtained by subtracting 1 from the reciprocal of the ratio of the low heating value of E20 fuel to E0 fuel. The exhaust port (12), the exhaust pipe (13), and a catalyst carrier (141) are configured to form a temperature gradient from a combustion chamber (111) to the catalyst (14) for exhaust gas of the high-concentration alcohol fuel at the time of cold start, and to establish a heat energy transfer path that suppresses local heat concentration for the exhaust gas of the high-concentration alcohol fuel at the time of high load.
