Abstract: This invention provides a method of recovering ethylene from a mixture of olefins. The method comprises providing a feed stream comprising a vapor phase mixture of olefins to a membrane filter unit. The feed stream is passed through the membrane filter unit to produce a permeate product stream and a retentate product stream. The permeate product stream comprises a higher molar percentage of ethylene than the retentate product stream. The permeate product stream is directed to a recovered ethylene product stream, and the retentate product stream is directed to a feed stream of a distillation column. A system for performing the method is also disclosed.
