MUMBAI, India, Sept. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641064521 A) filed by Srm Institute Of Science And Technology Tiruchirappalli on May 21, 2026, for Esp-32 Controlled Dual-Axis Solar Tracker With Hybrid Ldr-Rtc Sensing.

Inventors include Krisha Janardhan Marri; Yezhilvanan H; Dr. Mathankumar M; Dr. Dheepanchakkravarthy A; Dr. Shajith Ali U; and Mr. Srinivasan R.

The application for the patent was published on September 04, 2026, under issue no. 36/2026.

Abstract: The invention provides a breadboard-prototyped dual-axis solar tracker with ESP32 microcontroller controlling two servo motors for panel azimuth and elevation via inputs from four quadrant light dependent resistors (LDRs with resistors) and DS3231 real-time clock module. The firmware of the tri-cascade state machine system uses light variance data from LDR devices to operate in three different modes which include proportional LDR quadrant tracking under high variance clear skies and RTC astronomical positioning during low variance clouds or night and hybrid verification which combines hysteresis with transitional conditions for system stability and safe incremental testing. The system enables remote users to monitor tracking status together with tracking variance and tracking angles and the energy production rate of the system through its WiFi access point function. The system achieves previously unattainable tracking performance through its (under $25 parts) budget- friendly configuration which extends 25-42% tracking performance and decreases equipment wear while delivering dependable Internet of Things performance across different weather conditions.
