Abstract: ABSTRACT ERGONOMIC SMARTPHONE ACCESSORY WITH GEAR-DRIVEN SLIDING MECHANISM FOR ALLEVIATING MUSCULOSKELETAL STRAIN The present invention discloses an ergonomic smartphone accessory system (100) mountable on the rear surface of a smartphone (160) for alleviating musculoskeletal disorders associated with prolonged one-handed use. The system comprises a base plate (110) with a magnetic attachment ring (112), a vertically translatable casing assembly (120) having a bottom casing (122) and a top casing (124), a gear-based actuation system (130) with a rack (132), pinion gear (134), and symmetrically positioned gear wheels (128), and a palm-support grip module (140) with a curved palm-contact surface (142) and an elastic retention strap (144). The gear-driven vertical sliding mechanism (150) enables repositioning of the smartphone relative to the user's hand for enhanced thumb reachability without grip readjustment. The system redistributes smartphone weight from the little finger to the palm, promotes neutral hand posture, and provides ambidextrous, non-powered operation compatible with multiple smartphone models.
