MUMBAI, India, Oct. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611101539 A) filed by Chandigarh University on August 22, 2026, for Ephemeral Iot Device With An Automated Self-Deactivation System.
Inventor includes Aryan Thakur.
The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an ephemeral IOT device with an automated self-deactivation system that integrates sensing, wireless communication, power management, cryptographic security, and an ephemerality control module to perform data acquisition and transmission during a predefined operational period. The ephemerality control module continuously monitors one or more trigger conditions, including elapsed mission time, environmental thresholds, tamper detection, geofence violations, battery status, data transmission limits, and authenticated remote deactivation commands. Upon verification of a trigger condition, the device autonomously initiates a secure self-deactivation sequence by terminating communication, securely erasing cryptographic keys and stored data, and permanently disconnecting power through a hardware cutoff mechanism.
