Abstract: The present invention relates to a standardized anti biofilm botanical extract derived from authenticated leaves and aerial parts of Chromolaena odorata. The method employs enzyme assisted aqueous extraction under citrate buffer using cellulase and pectinase to co release phenolics and polysaccharides, followed by sequential liquid–liquid partitioning and tangential flow filtration to enrich oligomeric phenolic polysaccharide conjugates within a 10–100 kDa molecular weight window. Optional C18 chromatographic polishing and controlled drying yield a reproducible powder standardized for total phenolics and LC MS marker peaks. The extract exhibits at least 80% inhibition of biofilm formation and at least 50% eradication of mature biofilms of Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa at sub cytotoxic concentrations, supporting its use in topical formulations, wound dressings, and medical device coatings for prevention and management of biofilm associated infections.
