A plurality of biodegradable microelectrodes (106) operatively coupled to the fungal hyphal network (104) to capture generated electrical responses. A signal acquisition unit (108) may detect, condition, and convert the captured electrical responses into digital data. A self-sustaining energy unit (112) may generate electrical energy and supply power to system (100) components. A wireless communication unit (114) may enable multi-hop mesh transmission of the digital data. A processing unit (110) implemented locally or at a gateway (118) may process digital data to decode biosignals and determine environmental parameters including soil health mapping, carbon tracking, and predictive ecosystem analysis.
