Abstract: The Enhanced Phytoremediation System utilizes genetically engineered hyperaccumulator plants to efficiently remove heavy metals, such as lead, cadmium, and arsenic, from contaminated soils and water. By enhancing natural metal uptake, tolerance, and translocation mechanisms through genetic modifications, these plants can absorb and sequester higher concentrations of metals compared to natural hyperaccumulators. The system involves strategically planting the modified plants in contaminated areas, where they absorb heavy metals over time. Once the plants reach their maximum metal accumulation capacity, they are harvested, and the biomass is either safely disposed of or processed for metal recovery. This eco-friendly, cost-effective, and scalable solution offers a sustainable alternative to traditional, disruptive remediation methods, promoting environmental health and reducing heavy metal pollution.
