MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511015514 A) filed by Schneider Electric India Private Limited on February 22, 2025, for Enhanced Magnetic Assembly For A Miniature Circuit Breaker (mcb).
Inventor includes Mohanty, Ashutosh.
The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an enhanced magnetic assembly for miniature circuit breakers (MCBs). The invention eliminates the need for a separate frame and fixed core by integrating the fixed contact runner (1) as both the current-carrying conductor and the magnetic core. This innovative design reduces the number of components, simplifies the assembly process, and optimizes material usage, resulting in a more cost-effective and reliable solution. Key components include a coil (3) welded directly to the fixed contact runner (1), a bobbin (4) for support and alignment, a moving core (5) responsive to the magnetic field, a hammer (2) for tripping the circuit, and a spring (6) for resetting the mechanism. The design is automation-friendly, facilitating efficient mass production. The invention ensures reliable operation under short-circuit conditions while meeting all necessary standards and safety requirements for electrical protection devices.
