Abstract: Systems and methods for coding of handles in meshes. In an example mesh encoding method, information is obtained describing a geometry of a mesh comprising a plurality of triangles, each triangle having a plurality of corners associated with a respective corner index. Handle information is encoded identifying a pair of corner indices. The pair of corner indices includes a first corner index and a second corner index. The encoding of the handle information comprises encoding a sign of the first corner index. In some embodiments, encoding the handle information further comprises encoding an offset of the second corner index. In some embodiments, the first and/or second corner index are encoded using delta coding.
