Abstract: ABSTRACT ENERGY STORAGE MATERIAL AND PROCESS FOR PREPARATION THEREOF There is provided a chemical complex of lithium polysulfide nano encapsulated with titanium dioxide and a process for in-situ synthesis of the said complex, comprising (i) mixing sodium sulphide and lithium hydroxide in a solvent; dropwise adding TiO2 in concentrated hydrochloric acid to the solution of step (i) to obtain the nanoencapsulated complex. There is also provided a chemical complex of carbon aerogel (CA) doped with lithium polysulfide nano encapsulated with titanium dioxide and a process of preparation of the said complex, comprising: (i) dissolving TiO2 nano encapsulated lithium polysulphide in a solvent to obtain a solution; (ii) mixing a pre-heated electrically conductive carbon aerogel in the said solution of step (i); and (iii) heating to evaporate the solvent and produce TiO2 nano encapsulated Li2Sn doped carbon aerogel. A supercapacitor is provided wherein the chemical complex of carbon aerogel (CA) doped with lithium polysulfide nano encapsulated with titanium dioxide, is used as cathode.
