MUMBAI, India, July 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411103053 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges on December 24, 2024, for Energy Harvesting System With Adjustable Bifacial Solar Panel Strips And Method For Maximizing Energy Capture.

Inventors include Dr. Pradeep Gaur; Saloni Kashyap; Suryavanshi Katoch; Dr. Dinesh Arora; Dr. Vinay Bhatia; and Dr. Gurpreet Singh.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides solar energy harvesting system that enhances solar power generation through the use of bifacial solar panel strips mounted on primary solar panel. Bifacial solar panel strips are oriented in a slanted position to capture solar radiation on both their front and rear surfaces. Incident light passes through gaps between the strips, strikes the primary panel, and is reflected back to the rear surfaces of the bifacial solar panel strips, increasing energy absorption. The system includes an adjustable inclination mechanism that modifies the angle of the bifacial solar panel strips based on the sun’s position, maximizing solar energy capture. This inclination adjustment is achieved via a motorized actuator. Additionally, system incorporates solar tracking system that calculates optimal inclination angle for the bifacial solar panel strips, ensuring continuous optimization of energy capture. FIG. 1
