The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a mechanical energy harvesting and actuation system for aircraft thrust reversers. The system converts landing gear compression into rotational motion using a rack and pinion mechanism, which is transmitted through a one-way clutch to a torsional energy storage assembly. The assembly includes a split-shaft configuration and a torsion spring for storing energy. Locking mechanisms restrict shaft rotation during storage. Upon release, a latch disengages, allowing the stored energy to rotate the shaft. This motion is converted into linear displacement through a rack and pinion system to assist thrust reverser deployment. The system operates without interfering with landing gear dynamics and reduces the load on conventional actuators.
