Abstract: ABSTRACT ENERGY-EFFICIENT VIRTUAL MACHINE CONSOLIDATION SYSTEM WITH ADAPTIVE THRESHOLD- BASED LIVE MIGRATION FOR CLOUD DATA CENTERS The present invention discloses an energy-efficient virtual machine consolidation system (100) for cloud data centers comprising a plurality of physical host servers (110) with linear power model modules (120), a workload generation module (130), a datacenter broker module (140), a VM selection module (150) implementing maximum correlation selection with minimum migration time fallback, a VM allocation and migration policy module (160) with static threshold-based overload detection and Modified Best Fit Decreasing placement, and an energy computation module (170) for transparent per-host energy calculation. The system is characterized in that it integrates correlation-driven VM selection with threshold-based overload detection and externalized per-host energy computation, achieving statistically validated linear energy scaling from 0.0390 kWh to 0.1952 kWh across configurations of 5 to 25 hosts with zero SLA violations. ANOVA validation confirms consolidation scale as a significant energy predictor at p less than 0.001. [
