Abstract: Energy-Efficient TinyML Models for Edge-Based Environmental Monitoring Systems is the proposed invention. The proposed invention is related to an Energy- Efficient TinyML Model for Edge-Based Environmental Monitoring Systems using MobileNetV3, which supports real-time low-power environmental monitoring on resource-limited edge devices. The system gathers data from a variety of environment sensors, pre-processes the data received, and performs inference on the device with the optimised MobileNetV3 model that has been compressed with quantisation and pruning techniques. It is able to classify environmental conditions and identify anomalies such as air pollution, hazardous gas leakage and abnormal climatic variations with minimum memory usage, computational complexity and energy consumption. The smart energy management mechanism turns on sensing and inference only when there is significant change in the environment or at scheduled times, which helps to extend the battery life. Moreover, the system reduces communication overhead by providing processed results and critical alerts to cloud platforms instead of raw sensor data. Also, there is a constant performance improvement by using newly acquired environmental data via an adaptive model update mechanism. The proposed framework is a scalable, reliable, and energy-efficient solution for edge-based environmental monitoring, making it applicable to smart cities, industrial safety, precision agriculture, environmental conservation, and remote IoT monitoring systems.
