Abstract: Energy-Efficient Solar-Powered Adaptive Highway Lighting System with AI, IoT, and Predictive Maintenance This invention describes an energy-efficient, solar- powered highway lighting system that incorporates vehicle light and sound sensors, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and the Internet of Things (IoT) to optimize lighting control. The system detects the presence of vehicles through light and sound sensors, activating the lighting on the detecting pole and the next three poles ahead, while deactivating lights behind the vehicle to conserve energy. Powered by solar panels and efficient rechargeable batteries, the system reduces grid dependence and optimizes battery life. AI algorithms analyze real-time traffic data and historical patterns, adjusting lighting schedules accordingly. The system is interconnected through IoT, ensuring seamless coordination across poles, with a centralized software interface for remote monitoring and predictive maintenance. Compared to conventional systems, this invention minimizes energy consumption, extends battery life, reduces maintenance costs, and enhances road safety, providing a sustainable and cost-effective solution for highway lighting
