Abstract: ABSTRACT ENERGY-EFFICIENT IOT-BASED SMART GREENHOUSE MONITORING AND CONTROL SYSTEM USING LORA COMMUNICATION The present invention discloses an energy-efficient IoT-based smart greenhouse monitoring and control system (100) comprising a sensor node (110) with a power gating relay module (122) that selectively energises environmental sensors during measurement intervals, a gateway node (140) employing a Raspberry Pi controller (142) for data processing and cloud communication, and an actuator node (170) for automated control of ventilation, irrigation, and lighting. The sensor node (110) monitors temperature, humidity, soil moisture, light intensity, and carbon dioxide concentration, and transmits data through long-range LoRa communication to the gateway node (140). The gateway node (140) forwards data to a cloud platform (150) for real-time visualisation through a dashboard interface (160) that supports both automatic threshold-based control and manual remote operation of actuators. The system achieves significant energy savings through relay-controlled sensor power gating and microcontroller deep sleep operation. [
