MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611110409 A) filed by Chandigarh University on September 15, 2026, for Energy-Adaptive Low-Energy Air Conditioner With Integrated Multi-Stage Air-Quality Management System.

Inventors include Namrta Tanwar; and Kuldeep Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an integrated low-energy air-conditioning system comprising a passive radiative cooling module, a variable-speed micro-compressor, a multi-stage air-quality module, a fresh-air micro-ventilation system, a heat-recovery pre-cooling loop and an adaptive controller. The passive radiative cooling module facilitates heat rejection from a condenser, while the variable-speed micro-compressor adjusts cooling capacity according to thermal demand. The air-quality module comprises an electrostatic mesh filter, activated carbon module, UV-C disinfection chamber and plasma ionizer for treating particulate and gaseous contaminants. The electrostatic filter may be powered at least partly using energy generated by an airflow micro-turbine. Controlled outdoor air is introduced according to carbon dioxide conditions and pre-cooled through the heat-recovery loop. The adaptive controller processes temperature, humidity, air-quality and occupancy information to coordinate cooling, purification and ventilation operation for improved energy efficiency and indoor air-quality management.
