The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an endoscopic retrieval device, system, and method for retrieving a distally maldeployed lumen-apposing metal stent (LAMS) during an endoscopic ultrasound-guided procedure. The system comprises a catheter shaft, a distal stabilization member disposed at a distal end of the catheter shaft, and an expandable capture member disposed proximally of the distal stabilization member. The distal stabilization member is configured to be positioned distal to the maldeployed LAMS, while the expandable capture member is configured to engage the maldeployed LAMS from an opposite side. Upon deployment, the maldeployed LAMS is retained between the distal stabilization member and the expandable capture member to form a retrieval assembly. The retrieval assembly facilitates stabilization, capture, compression, repositioning, and retrieval of the maldeployed LAMS through an endoscopic working channel. The invention provides a minimally invasive solution for controlled retrieval of maldeployed lumen-apposing metal stents.
