Inventors include Mr. Rajesh Poddar; Mr. Debashish Chatterjee; Mr. Goutam Prasad; and Ms. Satavisha Chatterjee.
The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT Title: End-of-Life Vehicle Acoustical Insulation Components and Interior soft trims: Responsible Recycling The present invention relates to a high- performance composite formulation comprising end-of-life vehicles (ELVs) based shredded recyclable wastes of select size from 5–8 mm in co-acting polymer reinforced matrix for balanced improved mechanical strength, flexibility and sustainability of the composite having tensile strength in the range of 3–25 Kg/cm² and insulating capacity with effective acoustic barrier performance by average sound transmission loss of more than 40 dB. A method of fabrication of said composite formulation is also provided wherein 10% to 40% by weight of the end-of-life vehicles (ELVs) based shredded recyclable wastes including soft non-metallic trims of select size from 5–8 mm is combined with co-acting polymer reinforced matrix including rubber and/or plastic ranging from 20% to 40% by weight in presence of filler reinforcements and compatible plasticizers and other additives for desired surface hardness and balanced mechanical robustness and elastic functionality, suitable for noise and thermal insulation applications.
