Abstract: The disclosure relates to the field of video coding, and providesencoding and decoding methods, an encoder, and a decoder. The method comprises: determining (S901), by parsing a bitstream, last significant coefficient location reverse identification information of a current slice, and coordinate information of a last significant coefficient of a current block of blocks in the current slice; when the last significant coefficient location reverse identification information indicates that last significant coefficient location reverse is applied to the blocks, obtaining (S902) a location of the last significant coefficient of the current block by performing calculation on the coordinate information of the last significant coefficient; and determining (S903) coefficients of the current block by decoding coefficients located ahead of the location of the last significant coefficient in a preset scanning order. In this way, in a high-bit-width, high-bit-rate, high-quality or lossless video coding scenario, compression efficiency can be improved. (Refer Fig. 9)
