Abstract: ABSTRACT EMORESS: A SMART WEARABLE EMOTION MONITORING AND STRESS RESPONSE SYSTEM FOR AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDER The present invention relates to an integrated assistive system for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), combining real-time facial emotion recognition with physiological stress monitoring and autonomous intervention. The system comprises a camera module, a Galvanic Skin Response (GSR) sensor, a pulse sensor, a sensor interface microcontrollcr, a main controller, a calming mechanism, a caregiver alert module, and a database. Facial image frames of a person interacting with the ASD individual are processed through face detection and a CNNbased deep learning model to identify a facial emotion, which is displayed to the ASD individual in a simplified format. Concurrently, GSR and heart rate data are acquired and analyzed against predefined stress thresholds. Upon detecting elevated stress, the system automatically provides relaxing music or guided breathing instructions through an audio output device. If stress persists beyond a predetermined duration or a manual alert is activated, a notification is transmitted to a designated caregiver. Physiological readings, emotion classifications, intervention events, and alert events are recorded for longitudinal analysis and personalized threshold adjustment. The system operates as a compact, portable, closed-loop assistive platform.
