Abstract: An emergency communication device, comprises of a head wearable body 101, a plurality of dry electroencephalography (EEG) electrodes 102 to acquire frontal EEG signals from a wearer, an EEG signal acquisition unit to continuously acquire bioelectric signals, a signal conditioning and processing unit to amplify, filter, digitize, and preprocess the acquired bioelectric signals, an eye-blink detection module to detect eye-blink events from the preprocessed signals, an intent verification engine to distinguish voluntary eye-blink patterns from involuntary or reflex blinks, a consciousness assessment module to determine a consciousness state of the wearer, a decision logic engine to authorize emergency activation only when at least a predetermined voluntary blink pattern and a qualifying consciousness state are verified, a medical data generation module to generate a rescue data packet, and a communication unit coupled with a location module to provide position information for inclusion in an encrypted distress signal.
