Abstract: An emergency braking system (200) and method of enabling (600) and retrofitting (700) in a vehicle is disclosed. The emergency braking system (200) includes an electrical relay (206) operatively coupled to an electrical emergency switch (204). A transmission assembly (202A, 202B, 202C, 202D) electrically coupled to the electrical relay (206), and mechanically and operatively coupled to at least one brake (306A, 306B, 306C, 306D) of the vehicle. The electrical relay (206) is activated in response to an actuation of the electrical emergency switch (204). Upon the activation of the electrical relay (206), the transmission assembly (202A, 202B, 202C, 202D) is operated by the electrical relay (206) to actuate the at least one brake (306A, 306B, 306C, 306D) in order to enable the emergency braking in the vehicle.
