Abstract: An emergency braking system (200) and method of enabling (300) and retrofitting (400) in a vehicle is disclosed. The emergency braking system (200) includes an electrical emergency switch (212). An electrical solenoid valve (202) operatively coupled to the electrical emergency switch (212). At least one check-valve (208A, 208B) operatively coupled to the electrical solenoid valve (202). An air storage tank (204) operatively coupled to the electrical solenoid valve. The electrical solenoid valve (202) is actuated in response to an actuation of the electrical emergency switch (212). Upon the actuation of the electrical solenoid valve, air from the air storage tank (204) is transmitted to the set of brake actuators (102A, 102B, 104A, 104B) via the at least one check-valve (208A, 208B) and the electrical solenoid valve (202). The set of brake actuators are actuated by the air received via the at least one check-valve and the electrical solenoid valve (202). [
