Abstract: The invention relates to a centrifugal pump having a housing (1) in sheet metal construction, wherein the housing (1) is designed as a deep-drawn part. The housing (1) has a pressure-side housing wall (14) on which an opening (8) for attaching a discharge port (15) is formed. An impeller wheel (3) is located within the housing (1) and is arranged in the plane of the discharge port opening (8), wherein the axis of rotation (10) of the impeller wheel (3) is eccentrically offset with respect to a centre line of the housing (1). A leading edge (7) is formed by the housing wall (14) and the discharge port (15). The housing wall (14) is designed as a lateral surface of a cylinder, wherein the cylinder has a base surface (2) which has a main axis (4) with a long extension and a secondary axis (5), which is perpendicular to the main axis (4), with a short extension.
