Abstract: Human–elephant conflict is a significant challenge in forest-border and rural regions, posing serious risks to human lives, property, and wildlife conservation. EleTrack is an intelligent real-time elephant intrusion detection and alert system designed to provide early warnings and help reduce human–wildlife conflicts. The proposed system uses a camera integrated with an embedded computing platform to continuously monitor areas vulnerable to elephant intrusion. A deep learning-based object detection model, YOLO (You Only Look Once), processes the captured video stream and identifies elephants in real time. Upon detecting an elephant, the system immediately activates a buzzer-based local alert and transmits warning notifications through RF-enabled wireless communication. To ensure reliable communication, the transmitted RF signals are monitored and validated using a spectrum analyzer, enabling the assessment of signal performance and transmission reliability. This integration of AI-based detection, embedded systems, wireless communication, and RF signal validation provides a comprehensive early-warning mechanism. EleTrack is designed to be scalable, cost-effective, and suitable for deployment in remote forest-border environments. By enabling timely detection and rapid alert generation, the system enhances wildlife monitoring and community safety while contributing to the prevention and mitigation of human–elephant conflicts.
