MUMBAI, India, Aug. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202514116732 A) filed by Erbe Elektromedizin Gmbh on November 25, 2025, for Electrosurgical Instrument.

Inventor includes Tanja Heider.

The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.

Abstract: The invention refers to an electrosurgical instrument (10), particularly for thermal cutting of biological tis-sue of a patient. The instrument (10) comprises two jaws (15, 16), wherein at least one of the jaws (15) is config- ured to be moved relative to the other jaw (16) toward and away from the latter. At least one of the jaws (15) com-prises a thermal cutting element (22), having an electri-cally conductive cutting conductor (36) and an electrical-ly conductive return conductor (37) that are electrically connected with each other. The cutting element (22) is ar-ranged, so that the cutting conductor (36) is at least thermally uncovered on a side of one jaw (15) facing the other jaw (16) and so that the return conductor (37) is surrounded by an insulating body (34). The return conduc-tor (37) comprises a lower electrical resistance in cur-rent flow direction and preferably a higher thermal con-ductivity than the cutting conductor (36). In doing so, during supply of current to the cutting element (22) at the return conductor (37) a considerably lower amount of heat and temperature is created than in the cutting con-ductor (36) and the return conductor (37) can be used for heat dissipation.
