Abstract: The invention relates to an electronic payment method, which comprises the following steps, implemented by a payment server: - receiving a transaction message originating from a merchant device, the transaction message comprising an amount of a sale to a customer, the amount of the sale having been entered by means of a merchant device; - generating a transaction fingerprint on the basis of the received transaction message, the fingerprint comprising the amount of the sale and an identity of the merchant known to the payment server in the form of a format that can be acquired by acquisition means of a customer device; - transmitting the generated fingerprint to the merchant device, the merchant device being configured to present the fingerprint to a customer device; and - receiving a sale message originating from a customer device, the sale message comprising information relating to an amount of a transaction and information relating to an identity of a merchant, the sale message having been generated by the customer device following the acquisition of the transaction fingerprint by the customer device, an authentication of the customer and a validation of the transaction by the customer on the customer device.
