Abstract: The invention provides an electronic circuit for powering a coil or coil set of an electromagnetic motor. The electronic circuit comprises a normal operating circuit to be used during a normal operating mode, a braking circuit to be used during an emergency mode, and a switch device for switching between the normal operating mode and the emergency mode. In the normal operating mode, the electronic circuit is configured to supply a power to the coil or coil set. In the emergency mode, the electronic circuit is configured to short circuit the coil or coil set across the braking circuit. The braking circuit is arranged to create a negative resistance or negative impedance to increase the braking force.
